Junior Infants 2016-2017
Christmas Festivities
We had a very exciting time here in Junior Infants before Christmas. We set up a post office in our classroom. The girls were very busy writing cards and wrapping presents. We also had a visit from Dublin player Ciaran Kilkenny who brought the Sam Maguire with him! The girls were so delighted to meet Santa, who brought a present for every child in the class. Junior Infants loved their presents and were very grateful to Santa.
Halloween and Autumn Fun
We had great fun in Junior Infants in the Autumn. We learned all about hedghehogs, and made some hedgehogs from playdough and with crepe paper. We set up a fancy dress shop where we bought ans sold costumes for Halloween. We als built some spooky castles and haunted houses for scary creatures to live in. The girls all got dressed up for Halloween. Don't they look great!
How to make hot chocolate!
We are doing procedural writing for September and October so the girls learned how to make hot chocolate!
We had a busy morning in the cookery room pouring, measuring and stirring but we had a delicious treat to enjoy when we were finished. When we returned to the classroom we drew pictures of the steps for making hot chocolate. You can see some of our work on the literacy noticeboard.

Maths is fun!
In September we were very busy matching and sorting during maths time.
Starting School!
Junior Infants have settled in very well to our school! The girls have been having lots of fun, learning and making new friends. In September we were very busy developing our fine motor skills to help us get ready for writing. Check out our photos below!
