Welcome to 2nd class!

September:

For the month of September we've been learning all about trees. We've been identifying the different parts of a tree and also different species of trees in Ireland!

This month we've also been reading about different forms of art, including murals. Ballymun has plenty of mural artwork on show, so we decided to take a walk around our local area and have a look...

October:

We voted and elected our Green Schools and Student Council representatives! Congratulations to those who were successful.

We created our hedgehogs using lots of different autumn leaves!

November:

We carried out lots of really fun experiments for Science Week. We made slime that feels both gooey and solid. We also made helicopters that we dropped off the staircase!

We also had an extra special visitor in the school during November. The girls had great fun meeting Mr. Shaw's new puppy Ozzie.

December:

We had a crafty little visitor over the Christmas who liked to mess up our classroom!

January:

We had a very busy January, with a trip to Coultry Park!

We were also very busy learning about fractions this month. As a special treat, we made pizzas and practised cutting them into halves and quarters!

February:

We had a very busy February with our very special Valentine's Disco taking place in the school hall. All of the girls were encouraged to dress up in pink and red to celebrate the occasion. Can you spot many of our 2nd class girls in the crowd?
